• David Monti

  
  

  Dr. Monti, a 1986 graduate of The Ohio State University, joined  the Ridge Animal Hospital in 1986 and became a partner in 1990. His primary clinical interests are surgery and ultrasonography.  Outside of practice he enjoys reading, computers, and flying small planes.  He's the proud father of the following pets:  Duke, a 11 year old mix breed hound; Thalia, a 2 year old Black Labrador, Pebbles, an 8 year old cat, and Woody, a 4 year old cat.

• Dr. Bethann Lewis-Strothmann , DVM

  
  

  Dr. Lewis graduated from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in May, 1995. Following graduation she practiced for 1-1/2 years in a Small Animal/Equine private practice outside Albany, NY.  She began working at Ridge Animal Hospital in December, 1996.  Since then she has worked in the small animal clinic and on the road as a predominately equine practitioner.  On a personal note, she has had 2 brief leaves to give birth to her 2 children, but has since returned full time to practice veterinary medicine.  She enjoys very much working in both areas of the practice and especially enjoys the spring time breeding season.

• Dr. Peter Oliver , DVM

  
  

  Dr. Peter Oliver DVM was raised in Ballston Spa, New York, a small town south of Saratoga.  His family has managed a small flock of sheep since he was 12.  This got him involved in 4-H and sparked his interest in veterinary medicine.  He was also very active in the Boy Scouts in high school and became an Eagle Scout in 1998.  He received his undergraduate degree in animal science from Cornell University, College of Agriculture and Life Science.  He headed south for veterinary school attending Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean.  He graduated from Ross University in February of 2006 after completing the clinical portion of veterinary school at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech.  He was previously employed at a veterinary practice near Binghamton, New York before moving to Middleport and starting at Ridge Animal Hospital in March, 2008. Peter’s hobbies include camping, canoeing, rowing and working with computers.

• Mr. Gary McCarthy

  
  

  Gary graduated from the State University College at Buffalo, NY with a Bachelor of Science degree in math secondary education.  He taught high school math for two years before going to work for the Rite Aid drug store chain.  At Rite Aid Gary managed stores in Albion, NY and Medina, NY before moving on to a supervisory position with the company.   Gary joined our practice in the summer of 1994 as our practice manager.  His interest outside of work involves training, showing and breeding golden retrievers.  He has attained many titles and awards showing his dogs in obedience.

• Donna Riches

  
  

  Donna has worked for Ridge Animal Hospital since March of 1994.  She has been the Credit Manager since October of 1994 and has recently become the Office Manager.  Donna is married, has three children and five grandchildren.  At this time, her other kids include one golden retriever and two long haired black cats.

• Mrs. Katie Curtin , LVT

  
  

  Katie has been employed at Ridge Animal Hospital since 1988.  She was a member of the first graduating class of Veterinary Technology at Medaille College.  She lives in Medina with her husband Gary and daughter Michelle, her son Kenny is a college student going into his senior year. She has adopted many needy animals in her career and raises Boston Terriers in her spare time.

• Ms. Carrie Blenker , LVT

  
  

  Carrie has been employed at Ridge Animal Hospital since 1995.  She graduated with a degree in Veterinary Technology from Delhi in 1992.  Carrie grew up on a local Arabian Horse farm and enjoys showing horses. Carrie also has a small photography business locally.    Her favorite breed of dog is the Pug.

• Ms. Barb Wright , LVT

  
  

  Barb has been employed at Ridge Animal Hospital since 2000.  She graduated with a degree in Veterinary Technology from Medaille College in 2000.  She lives in Lyndonville with her husband Mitch.  She has five German Shepherds, three Shih tzus, many cats, four horses and other farm animals.  In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, training and breeding her German Shepherds.

  Rayn graduated from Medaille in 2006 with a Veterinary Technology Degree and joined Ridge Animal Hospital in May of 2006.  She has four cats and a guinea pig and enjoys reading and hiking.

  I started working at Ridge Animal Hospital in  March of 1986.  A friend of mine told me that they were in need of a receptionist, so I called and was asked to come in and have an interview with Dr. Mayhew.  I came in that morning and was asked how soon I could start,  I came back after lunch and I have been here ever since.

• Mrs. Janine Zacher

  
  

  Janine joined the Ridge Animal Hospital Staff in December of 1997 when hired as a receptionist.  Her former interests include Himalayan-Persian cats, Australian Shepherd dogs, and the raising and showing of the American Quarter Horse.  She and her husband live locally and enjoy the companionship of several treasured household pets.  In her spare time, Janine enjoys both literary and visual arts.

  Stacey joined the practice in the year 2004.  She is a 1996 Equestrian Science and Management graduate from SUNY Morrisville. Stacey spends her free time at the lake.  She lives in the area with her husband Matt, her dog Ruger, her cat Todd, and 3 horses.

  Lisa rejoined Ridge Animal Hospital in July of 2007.  She works very hard in our kennel and takes good care of all the animals.  She enjoys walking/hiking, cooking and listening to different types of music.  Lisa is married and has a son and a daughter.  She also has one dog at home.

• Mrs. Florence Shafer

  
  

  Florence joined Ridge Animal Hospital in the Fall of 1991.  She has been our Groomer for many years and is always willing to help out in the kennel area.  Florence has a local grooming and boarding business. Florence is very busy with her family, her farm and the animals.  Florences' love for the animals and their care is shown here in her work as a groomer and the business that she has at home.
