NEW SERVICE
The Doctors and staff are proud to
offer dental x-rays as part of a comprehensive oral health evaluation. Most people are familiar with the use of
dental x-rays when we visit our human dentists. New equipment allows us to get
a more accurate picture of your pets’ oral health. The veterinarians are able to see disease
below the gum line that you don’t know exists without the use of the x-rays.
Veterinarians can now diagnose retained tooth roots, sub gingival fractures,
bone loss, tooth decay and many other problems.
Without the use of x-rays, total oral health cannot be assured.
During your
pet’s dental cleaning the veterinarian and technician will take radiographs of
all the teeth and the structures that surround them. They then develop them right at the time of
the cleaning and the doctor is able to view the films instantly. Decisions then are made as to the treatment
plans for a tooth or teeth that are questionable. If necessary, the images can be sent
electronically to a veterinary dental specialist for a second opinion.

Newer vaccines are available to protect against feline leukemia virus infection, feline infectious peritonitis virus and other infections (chlamydia, feline bordetella, ringworm).
